Zašila opet sve i dovršila obrub.
It's not coincidental that I've neglected my blog.
I've neglected my knitting as well. And that's me, the person who used to knit a sweater with 35 degrees Celsius in shade.
Well, that's not the whole truth, I started neglecting knitting after I've knit an entire sweater.
The story goes something like this: I started knitting February lacy sweater, and made the most of it ina few days when my town was covered in snow and ice. It seemed at the time the project would be finished by the end of the week.
Then I realized it's the kind of sweater with sewing in the sleeves, and the front and back ar made in a hundred separated parts. That should have been a queue. But no, I thought "maybe this time it won't be so awful".
I was wrong. It's not for me.
I followed the instructions like the biggest geek, but after sewing in the first sleeve (sewing itself was relatively OK, because of the lacy pattern everything looks in its place) I saw that it was all wrong. The armhole was way too small, the sleeve a little too tight, and after sewing it all together, it wouldn't go over my arms.
So I went back a few steps and made the hole bigger. Sewed it all again and finished the brim.
And I left the sweater out of the way, wouldn't even try it on cause I was afraid it would again not be good.
Until I saw my blog statistics and realized I hadn't written anything in ages, and it would be good to finally try that sweater on and take a few pics.
Of course it's still too tight. I can put it on, but the sleeves aren't working. Also, now that it's finished, I can't see a reason why I wouldn't make it in the same way I made my Lidija shirt.
So I think I'll be going back a few steps one more time and make it in the way I know works. Then maybe I'll wear it at least by the end of March.
Another thing a realized in the two weeks of avoiding to knit is that it has an amazing effect on how clean my house is. I'm gonna have to think about that.
